Postmodern Palazzo

Cornell University  |  2012

This project is based on Terragni’s Danteum, and is a redesign of the traditional Roman palazzo. It takes the perfect symmetry and axes of an ideal type and distorts and twists them in the upper levels. The three levels of the building represent inferno, purgatory, and paradise, progressing from a rigid ideal plan to be increasingly skewed and opened up on the upper floors.
